This is the last time I saw my grandmother, exactly two months ago. It’s the mental image I have of her, perpetually in her nightgown, smelling like talcum powder. That smell always reminds me of her.
I’m thankful I made the effort to go home recently and see her, because it’s the last chance I’ll ever get.

I live about five blocks from a McDonald’s, and in the 15 or so months that I’ve been living here I’ve managed to avoid it. In fact, I’ve managed to avoid eating at McD’s for close to a decade and never really liked it, um, ever.
